Our Vision
Southern African Journeys is the creation of a lifetime dream when Chris Tromp and Ian Batchelor felt that a niche had opened up in the Southern African market, a chance to create and put together a product that would capture their combined passion and love for Africa and all it has to offer. Both Ian and Chris have grown up in Africa and from an early age have loved its outdoors and its varied history and culture, they are continually looking at new destinations and new areas to ensure that the itineraries are varied and diverse. South Africa is our base and is itself the core product with the incredible changes that have taken place and a very exciting and vibrant future ahead. Between the two of us we offer a wealth of experience and knowledge gleaned from many years of guiding, fishing and hunting. Our team are able to offer and put together the best combinations and itineraries that capture the diversity and splendour of our surrounding neighboring countries, namely, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique. Whether these are offered as an extension to a Cape Town visit or as a trip on their own, you will have both Kal and Antonette, our wives, are involved in the business, in bookings, reservations and admin and offer a wealth of experience here. Ian has also worked in Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania over the years and knows these areas intimately, Any tour or itinerary can be guided by Ian or Chris on request.
